Corrosion & MIC
An assessment of the internal condition of piping shall be done at a minimum of every 5 years. Tubercules or slime, if found, shall be tested for indications of MIC.
Diesel Fuel
NFPA 25 states that diesel fuel shall be tested for degradation at least annually. Biodiesel fuel might need to be tested for degradation more frequently.
Water Mist Nozzles
Automatic water mist nozzles that have been installed for 10 years (5 for harsh environments) shall be replaced, or representative samples shall be tested.
TESTING SERVICES
Sprinklers
NFPA 25 requires building owners or their designated representatives to replace or test sprinklers periodically to confirm that they've maintained their performance. Test a minimum of 4 sprinklers or 1%, whichever is greater.
Firefighting Foam
NFPA 25 states & firefighting professionals agree that at least annually, an inspection of your foam and antifreeze inventory is crucial to maintaining the highest possible level of emergency preparedness.
Antifreeze
NFPA 25 requires installed antifreeze solution be tested annually, before the onset of freezing weather, to confirm it remains homogenous and continues to provide adequate freeze protection.
Dry Chemical
Inadequate dry chemical agent can be dangerous, whether that be due to insufficient or incorrect active ingredient or moisture. Several standards, including IMO 1432, require dry chemical agent be analyzed periodically.
